The art above my bed reminds me to push on– teaches me I’m worthy– Reminds me how you’re gone.

The art above my bed reminds me to push on– teaches me I’m worthy– Reminds me how you’re gone.
Like a reflection
In wavering water–
The image is clear,
But incomplete.
One step forward, two steps back…
I could look at my life as a dance,
But why am I so frustrated
For nobody giving me a chance?
They said, “You don’t have talent!
You’re not good enough to try!”
They said, “You’re fat and stupid,
And you’re living a big fat lie!”
I’m lying in the present while nightmares of my past
Come gripping at my soul – my future overcast.
