Look Up

The art above my bed reminds me to push on– teaches me I’m worthy– Reminds me how you’re gone.

I gaze at it and wonder, what if we never met? Would I be this strong? Would I be out of debt?

I often question why we meet the ones we do– All that pain and suffering you fought to put me through.

I don’t know how I got here– this place inside my mind. I wish I had done differently– I’d prefer I could rewind.

But instead I know I’m here– nestled in this place. What once had made me anxious is now luxury and lace.

I find that lost without you is better than we were. I’d rather love myself than to always be unsure.
